Artist Statement
I studied art while in college, and after retiring from a long business career, I rekindled my youthful passion for creating art. Pottery is my expression of that passion. Taking clay and molding it in a form, then decorating it by varying techniques, provides a unique art piece that gives me a lot of pleasure. My logo, "Pots by A'bear" is a play on the pronunciation of my 'Cajun' name, "Hebert".

Raku Firing
My pottery is about style and function. It is inspired by the places I have visited and the people I have met. As you browse the product tabs you will find a variety of shapes and forms. The pieces are wheel thrown or hand built using different types of clay bodies. They are decorated with various glazes, then kiln fired in a range of 1450°F-2381°F, by one of three kiln methods: oxidization/electric, reduction/gas, and raku/gas.
I hope you enjoy these pieces!
Thanks for viewing, Dan.
..."So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel." Jer 18:3
